pipeline candidates made sbisd history

The PIPEline Steering Committee spent months vetting 15 potential Board candidates in order to be confident with our endorsement of three candidates.  These interested individuals are people 1) who we were alerted to, 2) who contacted us directly or 3) who we sought out for various reasons. We were excited to have met so many great community members who we feel would be great additions to our Board of Trustees now and in the future.

Three Pipeline endorsed candidates made SBISD history by clinching a record breaking 13,815 votes in the May 7th election, surpassing last year's turnout of 8,758 votes.

One of the races individually totaled more votes than the entire 2021 trustee election.

Lisa Alpe scored 9,015 votes to win Position 5, more than double Incumbent Carter Breed's 4,400 votes.

John Perez received 8,744 votes to win Position 6. Opponents Ed Kaczinski and Laura Mafrige trailed with 3,707 and 870 votes respectively.

Caroline Harsh Bennett won 8,705 votes for Position 7, while opponent David Slattery finished with 4,295 votes.

These strong servant leaders work tirelessly to bring transparency, oversight, and a focus back on academic excellence in the classroom. Each will serve a three-year term.

We are grateful for the Spring Branch electorate who helped realize this unprecedented and decisive victory!
