School and District Administrators
We are unaware of any teachers or district employees being held accountable for the incidents mentioned in the Content Appropriateness section of this website. If there are no consequences for an employee who recommends child pornography to elementary and secondary school students, how can parents feel confident that it will not happen again?
Parents leading a petition to hold a principal accountable for other incidents mentioned on this website have been stonewalled by the district. The district’s response to the petition demonstrates its lack of interest in investigating such incidents or enforcing consequences. Here's an update.
In addition to inappropriate content, the lawsuit and agenda driven consultants politicizing our district, there are other issues that warrant attention such as the federal IDEA law violations. These went on for more than a decade before becoming exposed. What about ongoing issues that remain undiscovered or go unnoticed by many parents simply because administrators aren't forthcoming in this funding climate?
What if this is the tip of the iceberg?
What Parents Can Do
Organizations fail without accountability. Without it, SBISD’s problems will only get worse. The best solution is to elect new board members who understand this fundamental principle.
Board of Trustees - Principled Leadership
A successful school district requires solid, principled leadership. Strong boards set the vision, goals and policy for the district. They provide proper oversight because any organization that lacks accountability ultimately fails. Do you think we should have the same board members re elected over and over? Why must a board member remain re elected for 10 years, and why do we have trustees with adult children no longer attending our schools?
Strong board members are independent thinkers and don't do things in lockstep. Sadly, indoctrination doesn't end with students. Read how a state lawmaker claims that the Texas Association of School Board members get indoctrinated into Group Think.
What Parents Can Do
Accountability for both groups is essential. Again, without it SBISD’s problems will worsen. The best solution is to elect new board members who can demonstrate principled leadership in this regard.
